I had help from VESID, but was only matched to two jobs, both of which were not a fit for me. Now they are booting me from program. I am very depressed and don't know how I will find help in getting back into the work force. I am ready to leave world. thanks for any help
I'm so tired from finals and job searching...?
I have so much to do in the next 2 weeks. I have so many finals, projects, speeches to do that I can hardly keep up right now. On top of that I am moving out of my apartment in 2 3 weeks and also looking for jobs. I can manage doing all this I think, but I am so physically exhausted and tired all day i notice myself having troubles getting to everything. Anyone have any tips on how to help me feel refreshed for sleep. I am getting about 6 hours of sleep a day which probably isn't enough. Maybe getting an extra 1 2 would help. or napping? I do have some caffiene during the day but try to limit it now. How am I going to make it through finals? i feel like this tiredness that has caught up to me is hindering me from studying cause now i just want to sleep instead of study.

Adhd +job search= i need some tips?
I have a fairly strong case of ADHD and it hinders me in alot of ways.Hard time pin pointed good places to apply.My applications are usually sloppy.and when i go to an interview no matter how well prepared i am i always choke bc i it takes me awhile to regester the managers questions and come up with a proper response... I'm not sure if it would help if i were to be straight forward with my condition with the interviewer..any tips or advise would be greatly appreciated.

If anybody can want to help, I'll post more details on the 'other extra info bit'. I'm feeling so down at the minute 19 y o male I'll add the details now actually I'm 19, but puberty has stalled, therefore stopping me talking to girls, so I don't even know how to attract anybody as they will not be interested in me because of my 'downstairs problem'. A stranger, but friend of a friend died recently, and I can't stop feeling sad, and whenever I go for a job, i get rejected, things just sem to be going wrong daily, and I can't cope atm. I don't want councelling though

How do you deal with the emotional toll taken by an extended job search?The hiring process takes so agonizingly LONG. The applicant with seniority has to decide whether to turn down the job, the paperwork has to get passed through the personnel office, and there might even be someone else in the running that I don't know about. I'm starting to get really depressed. The weather is nasty here, and I don't get out much. I'm feeling worthless because I don't have a job. My husband tries to be supportive, but I can tell he's getting impatient too. I can't focus on anything because I'm waiting for the phone to ring... I have over 20 years adm clerk, accounting clerk, billing and collections with no degree to back me up. School is a positive option, I rather not add on to my bills. To pay back the school loan could be a problem.
Frustrated and anxious about job search. Please help!!?
I graduated from my master's degree in Environmental Management in July 2011 from a US university I am from Puerto Rico , and I have a bachelor's degree in Geology. I am still very frustrated because I haven't had a single word from a job yet I moved back home and I am living with my mom, and I also got a girlfriend when I got back an old friend who turned into a girlfriend . I am very anxious, I think she is going to leave me and that I am a bother to my mom. Plus I have been suffering from some depression and anxiety since last year. I have been to agencies, private firms and the like in person, but nothing My mom also think I am not doing enough and I can't talk to her about my feelings because she gets mad about my being so frustrated and negative.Please give me some advice or comfort. The TRUTH about Job searching! (long question)?
I have effectively been without a graduate job 7 months after I finished university. And before you say it, I ve done it. I ve done everything you can do in a job search and more. I ve effectively become a professional job searcher and it is here where I can tell you what works and what doesn t work What doesn t work 1 You don t have the experience, but you say in your CV or to the interviewer, something along the lines of you have this and that experience which helped towards it or you have the desire to work hard, great attitude and want to exceed, etc . Doesn t work regardless of how you phrase it. I have tried a million times, they just won t listen, especially if they are a recruitment agency. 2 Sending your application of to a job hired by a recruitment agency and taking no further action. This won t work, I mean it when I say people who work in recruitment agencies are idiots They don t specialise in your sector, so don t understand the skills and experiences you have. For example, if they require a candidate with knowledge of x software, and you have knowledge of y software which is the exact same, just an industry rival they will fail to make that connection. Another vacancy asked for someone with knowledge of a certain software, when it was the only company in a 200 mile radius that used that software they obviously didn t know this . So how on earth would anyone have extensive experience of it, unless they didn t already work there. Therefore, you often have to phone these people up and educate them on how to do their job properly in order to find the best candidate 3 Applying for jobs that are made up. Yes, that s what I said, made up Some recruitment agencies lie and pretend they have vacancies so they look busy and successful I guess but the truth is those vacancies don t exist and have probably been sitting there for years on end in some cases. For example, I applied to a job in June, its January, that same vacancy is listed. The truth of the matter is, it doesn t exist 4 Doing extra curricular activities to increase your chances of getting a job. Once again, why bother, I have done loads of extra curricular activities, I ve done charity work, volunteering, tuck part in student magazine, joined a host of groups and clubs, part time job, etc. None of it works, interviewers are totally disinterested. 5 Careers service and their advisors aren t all their cracked up to be. By all means use them, they might have a job vacancy available one in a million chance, but still a chance and if you ve never looked for a job before, they might be helpful. They may also be helpful long term in the form of a sympathetic ear. But other than that, they are useless. I know more than them and often have to tell them the real situation. Most of what they ll tell you are things that never work such as you don t have experience, but you have this and that experience. I m telling you interviewers just won t listen to that. 6 Statistics. There is a big difference between national figures and local figures, and its usually the case that the local figures aren t good at all. 7 Big companies. You ll see advertisements everywhere and they ll usually be at jobs fairs. Truth is that they ll have like 10 vacancies, and that s on a national scale. So that means thousands upon thousands of students are applying for that job. This will include Oxford and Cambridge students, so it s safe to say, you don t stand a chance. By all means have a go, but I wouldn t hold out much hope. What works First off, if you want a job, be related to someone Time and time again I see people getting jobs not on the basis of their suitability for the role in question but because they were related.Second, be rich By this you can pay the company to hire allowing you to gain the necessary experience.Third, be lucky If you don t fall into any of those 3 categories, welcome to my world. You ll either wind up unemployed or under employed. Rant over.the question, is that i want your views?
