Really need to make my dad stop smoking help?
I am very scared, my dad has tried quitting smoking probably ten times. He is 56, and I am just very afraid for his health. I know he wants to quit but he just can't As far as I know, the only thing he has seriously committed himself too is the Nicorette gum. What is out now that is the most effective?

So i've smoked for about a year and a half now. On and off. I really don't know what to do...I tried stopping for a week but i just couldn't. My dad smoked when he was younger for about 15 years and stopped when i was born. And mum never has properly smoked. Could this be some type of thing passed on? Also the fact im friends with a allot of heavy smokers does not help. Its starting to effect my Health allot and my teeth are starting to turn a little yellow. Can someone please help me out and tell me what to do.. I dont want to go to any special classes or my doctor so dont say that. Also i smoke about 5 a day or a bit more. Also allot more on the weekends easy threw a 20pack at a party.Thanks x

the things i am worring about is my family will keep on about it while I am stopping I think I will go to Doctors clinic to help has any one else done this years ago I tried with patches but I kept getting terrible nightmares has any one else had this problem ? Hi, I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and the doctor has advised me to stop smoking. You would think that the diagnosis would be enough to make me stop, unfortunatly it is not the case. I am finding it really difficult. It was only on monday when I was told. Have any of you got any tips that could help, I have been offered patches and I'm also considering zyban. I would love to hear from anyone who has tried these or other methods. ThanksAdditional I smoke about 20 a day, since Monday I have been lighting one up taking a few puffs, feeling miserable and stubbing it out, so all in all it's about 5 a day now.thanks

Taking Chantix to stop smoking.Help!?
I am on day 8 of taking Chantix. I don't feel any different and am smoking the same amount about 1 and a half packs a day. Would taking Wellbutrin or wearing a patch help? This is the ninth time I have tried to stop and have done hypnosis several times, gone to a stop smoking clinic, did acupuncture and tried cold turkey several times. I did stop once for three years and started smoking almost to the day three years later. I also feel quite militant about all this and feel like I am being forced into it. I know I need an attitude adjustment but i have smoked for many years and feel fine. Please no finger wagging I get enough of that. Does anyone who has been successful with Chantix have any useful advise for this old gal?
